The first trailer for Code Vein proves this is the Vampire Souls we thought we're getting

Yep, Code Vein is basically Vampire Anime Souls.

Namco has released the first trailer for Code Vein, a few days after the game was officialy revealed with the help of many screenshots.

Although the first ever teaser for Code Vein (back when it had the tagline 'Prepare to Dine') looked good, it was only inspired by Code Vein. The trailer above is the real deal, made up almost entirely of gameplay.

We get to see the game's general combat, as a few bosses are introduced. Code Vein's companion feature is also briefly shown, alongside some of the character abilities, many of which involve blood.

There's a stylised gritty look to the whole thing the blends anime with Souls-esque fantasy in a backdrop of the post-apocalypse, and it looks great.

Code Vein is out in 2018 on unannounced platforms.
