If you'd like to give Prey a try before you buy, you'll be able to do just that in a couple of weeks.

Bethesda announced today a demo for Prey will be made available on Thursday, April 27 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users.

The demo provides access to the first hour of the game. Here, playing as Morgan Yu, you'll find your first day of work aboard the Talos I is the worst first day ever.

There are no crew members left aboard the space station, so don't worry about handing in your resignation to the boss - because he's dead along with the rest.

Turns out, aliens have overrun Talos I and are hunting down any surviving crew members, including you, so it's imperative they be taken out before the creatures invade Earth.

File sizes for the console demo weren't provided, but we expect that information to be made available when the demo launches.

It's also worth noting save files from the demo will not carry over to the full game, unlike the Dishonored 2 demo. This was confirmed to us by a Bethesda representative when we sent an inquiry.

Prey will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 5.
