New Injustice 2 character spotlight features Captain Cold, and we can probably thank The CW for that
Injustice 2 highlights a popular supervillain.
Injustice 2 is supposed to bring in a bunch of more obscure characters, but if you're on top of current DC projects you probably already know who Captain Cold is.
If not, well, he's a super villain and leader of the Rogues. Yes, he's cold-themed, but he avoids redundancy by carefully tending to crop up in non-Batman comics, where Mr Freeze jealously guards his lazy pun territory. Captain Cold has been featured in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, making him a familiar face for fans of The CW's Arrowverse.
That's probably why he's been given a starring spot in Injustice 2, and good for him. Here's what Warner Bros. has to say about Captain Cold:
"Sworn to ending all crime, the Regime hunted down and brutally executed every member of the Rogues, including Captain Cold’s sister. Using his skills as a thief and his iconic Cold Gun, Cold now seeks his vengeance. He’ll gladly use the Society to achieve it."
This is at least the second Injustice 2 trailer to feature Captain Cold but the first to give us a really good look at his moves. The previous Injustice 2 character spotlight focused on Catwoman.
Injustice 2 releases in May for PS4 and Xbox One.
The number in the title should have tipped you off that it's Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm's second go-round with DC characters.
