Here come new Overwatch statues to take all your money, starting with Widowmaker

Overwatch is a huge moneymaker for Activision Blizzard, but it's not done yet. Uh-uh.

Overwatch's Widowmaker is the latest character to be honoured with a collectible statue from the Blizzard Gear store.

The $150 Widowmaker statue stands 13.5" tall and is hand-painted. It debuts alongside a new grouping on the storefront called Blizzard Collectibles, designed to corral Blizzard's high-end statues, replicas and artwork. The line also includes Overwatch stablemates Tracer and Reaper as well as Hearthstone and World of Warcraft stuff.

Blizzard promsies more Blizzard Colelctibles will be revealed throughout 2017, and we're pretty sure there'll be more Overwatch statues among them. You can pre-order the Widowmaker statue from Blizzard Gear now, or browse the whole Blizzard Collectibles collection.

In semi-related news, PCGamesN reports major investment management firm Morgan Stanley has predicted the Overwatch League could generate as much revenue as the WWE (ie, whopping amounts), but of course we're all used to wild speculation on the potential of esports.

In any case, even if nobody buys Widowmaker here (which they absolutely will) and the esports scene is a total washout (seems unlikely, although Activision Blizzard has dropped balls before), Overwatch will no doubt continue to generate sweet, sweet cashmoney like nobody's business.
