Get yourself back in the Dark Souls 3 mood with Friendship Chest 2: Gratuitous Hangouts

Dark Souls 3 is the gift that keeps on giving. In this instance, it's giving us amazing videos.

My favourite Dark Souls 3 video maker Sean Txty, aka Cursed Object, is back with a sequel to one of the best invasion montages ever.

You may remember Dark Souls 3: Friendship Chest for its unusually cinematic - or perhaps even arthouse cinematic - stylings. But this fearless creator has only grown in power since those days, giving us a series of RPG-style Dark Souls 3 narratives, and this one builds on that foundation.

Kicking off with three minutes of admirable voice acting, Friendship Chest 2 is an 18 minute wonder of Dark Souls 3 footage spliced together in ways that make me prop my chin on my hand and wonder why those boring substep kill montages are so popular when the fandom is producing delightfully offbeat stuff like this.

It's an almost meditative experience, so if it's afternoon tea time wherever you are I suggest you kick back with a cuppa and let it just sort of wash over you. You don't need to understand. Dark Souls 3 is not really about understanding, is it?

Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City releases this week and puts an end to the series, so from now on it will be player stories like these that continue its legacy.

I kind of feel like its in good hands.
