Mario Kart 8 Deluxe videos show off Battle Modes Piranha Plants vs Spies, Balloon Battle, more

A few videos giving you a look at the main Battle Modes in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have been released.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe modes you see below in Switch include the new Piranha Plants vs Spies mode, Bob-omb Blast, Balloon Battle, Coin Runners and Shine Thief. All are super-short clips, and are without sound (thanks, Siliconera).

An overview video for the modes was released earlier this month along with a set of screenshots.

When the game releases on Switch next month, every track and kart from the Wii U version, including all the previously released DLC, will be available in-game. It comes with five additional characters bringing the total to 42. It will also include new karts inspired by Splatoon, the ability to hold two items at once, the new Smart Steering control option, and more.

Battle mode has also been revamped, and can be played both locally and online, across eight Battle courses.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launches in stores and Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch on April 28 for $59.99, or your regional equivalent.

At launch, the Joy-Con Wheel accessory will also be made available at $14.99, or regional equivalent, for a set of two.
