For Honor came out on top during February in the US, despite having been out for only 12 days.

The NPD Group has published its full report for February 2017, covering the US retail (and some digital stores) gaming business. Last week, we learned that PS4 came out on top during the month.

Now, we get to take a look at the software side of the business. The report shows data tracked until February 25.

Overall, all segments tracked showed a decline. $724 million in revenues were generated by the industry in the period, a 21% drop year-over-year from $918.7 million. Console software generated $344.2 million, thanks to new releases, but it wasn't enough to beat the $402 million from the same period last year.

For Honor was the best selling game of the month, despite having only been out for 12 days before the report's cutoff date. The game topped the list for both consoles, too.

Nioh was the other new entry on the list, landing at no.9. Halo Wars 2 did not manage to break the top ten, but it did earn the no.6 spot on the Xbox One's best selling list.

Here's the top ten overall that month:

  • For Honor
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  • Grand Theft Auto 5
  • NBA 2K17
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • Rainbow Six: Siege
