Persona 5's new Velvet Room trailer is a great reminder of Persona's weird heart

Persona 5's English language release is fast approaching, and this new trailer reminds us of what we've got to look forward to.

This latest trailer returns us to Persona's Velvet Room, a dream space where you can sort through your captured personas and fuse them together to create more powerful beings.

Our old friend Igor is back, now rendered in slightly terrifying 3D, although his assistants Caroline and Justine are new. This time the room is rendered more like a prison that the game's protagonist is captured in. Persona fusion is now depicted through lovingly-rendered executions, which is the kind of weird fun we've come to expect from the Persona series.

There's a lot going on in Persona 5. The script will be one and a half times the size of Persona 4's script, and that game went on forever.

It's been a long, long wait for Persona fans, but P5 will finally release on April 4 for PS4 and PS3.
