Get to know your Mass Effect: Andromeda squaddies - new profiles and BTS chat with Peebee's voice actor

Mass Effect: Andromeda isn't all about who you're going to bang, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be gathering information in advance.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is slowly coming to light and BioWare is finally giving us what we want: more information on squadmates, AKA potential new BFFs and love interests.

The most recent Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer gave us a quick intro to a couple of cast members, but now the Mass Effect website has gone live with detailed profiles on Cora, Liam and Peebee.

Nobody could ever replace the likes of Garrus, Tali and Liara in our hearts, but Mass Effect: Andromeda is a new start in a new galaxy, so let's meet the gang. Lieutenant Cora Harper was second in command of the human arm of the Andromeda Initiative, behind Alec Ryder, the father of the two protagonists. She is a powerful biotic who has served with an Asari commando unit, Talein's Daughters, and is adept with Huntress tactics and weapons. Her favourite ability is Biotic Charge.

Liam Kosta is a crisis response specialist who wields two overclocked Omniblades and uses a jump jet in combat. He's a big fan of Havoc Strike and sounds like one of Mass Effect: Andromeda's more straight forward combat specialists, despite his civilian background. He's a London boy, although prior to joining the Andromeda Initiative he split his time between Earth and the Citadel.

Peebee is a biotic, but her role in Mass Effect: Andromeda is described as gunslinger and disruptor. Her favourite weapon is the Sidewinder and her favourite ability is Invasion. Friendly and free-spirited, she's on the lookout for adventure, and has no idealogical commitment to the Andromeda Initiative. Her full name is Pelessaria B’Sayle, and you can learn more about her by watching the video above, featuring voice actor Christine Lakin.

Since these are the first squaddies to be detailed, it's probable these three form the early core squad options in Mass Effect: Andromeda, much as Kaidan and Ashley did in the original Mass Effect, and we'll recruit more members as we go along. Note that they also potentially make up a handy male, female and gender-free romance option triangle; we know from the previous trailer that Cora is up for pashing at least the male Pathfinder.

Mass Effect: Andromeda releases in March, which means we only have a few weeks to work out how to min-max our squads for maximum romance as well as ass-kicking power.

Hopefully BioWare will profile other Mass Effect: Andromeda squaddies soon; sign up for the Andromeda Initiative if you haven't already, for updates as they come.
