Mass Effect: Andromeda's multiplayer won't have dedicated servers

And you can forget about cross-platform play too.

Mass Effect: Andromeda producer Fernando Melo has confirmed that the multiplayer will not be cross-platform and won't have dedicated servers.

Melo was asked about cross-platform play on Twitter along with clarification on the servers.

Crossplay won't be a feature - which isn't a huge surprise - but it looks like things aren't going to be progressing much from Mass Effect 3 which also had peer to peer servers.

One Twitter user voiced concerns over the decision, saying that p2p servers are "unsecure and exploitable by hackers."

The multiplayer isn't a competitive death match - essentially being a horde mode - so niggles with performance issues won't pose too much of a problem.

What are your thoughts? Are these valid concerns or just unfounded gripes?
