Dying Light developer Techland has scooped up Witcher 3, Gwent designer Damien Monnier for its new fantasy RPG

The Witcher 3 is the last of the series, but perhaps its DNA will carry on elsewhere.

Former CD Projekt RED designer Damien Monnier has popped up at Techland.

Monnier, who was a senior designed on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and lead designer of the standalone Gwent game, will be working on the new IP Techland announced in May.

The developer confirmed as much with Eurogamer, and it's exciting news: this new IP is "a fantasy game with a big, open world and RPG elements", which certainly lines up with Monnier's experience at CD Projekt RED.

This new fantasy game, which will feature both single-player and online co-op, is in development at Techland's Warsaw studio, where CD Projekt RED is also based. We don't know much else about it except that it isn't Hellraid, and Techland hopes to bring it to market by the end of 2018.
