Resident Evil 7's demo has a PT-like secret sequence which ends with an item import for the full game

Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour was patched over the weekend and as well as adding new content the final update seems to have allowed fans to resolve the demo's secrets at last.

Turns out if you complete a very specific sequence of events in Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour, mostly involving pointing a severed finger at various objects, you can trigger a series of giggle sounds. Similarly to Silent Hills teaser PT, if you can trigger every giggle you eventually get to see some stuff not available to more casual explorers - and receive the Dirty Coin item.

The demo text notes that this item can be imported for use in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard - so it looks like we'll have another mystery to solve when Resident Evil 7: Biohazard releases in January for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

You can find a complete walkthrough required to see all this for yourself on Reddit (via Kotaku), or just watch YouTuber Shirrako do it in the video above.

Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour has been available on PS4 since June, where it started as a PlayStation Plus exclusive. It has been updated a couple of times, and will come to Xbox One and PC later this month.

It really looks like Capcom paid a great deal of attention to PT, doesn't it? This may not please fans of third-person zombie shooter action, but it's an interesting step back towards horror for the meandering Resident Evil franchise.
