Ground vehicles may be coming next to No Man’s Sky

The most recent No Man's Sky update include a few things that point to ground vehicles being in development.

After months of silence, No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games released a big update for the game that brought base building, freighters, and more.

The studio said the patch is the just the start of things to come, and, according to Reddit user eegandj, ground vehicles may be next. Eegandj managed to find references to a buggy in the game's folders and .ini files.

These include textures, and a 3D model for a ground vehicles, as well as tyre models and textures. The user posted screenshots of what he found in the thread, and even managed to later get it to show up in-game. The mode is only visible on a computer screen, though.

As you can see above, work has definitely gone into creating the tyres and an early model for it. The tyres are not attached to anything now, but you can definitely see where this could go.

Navigating the surface in quick and efficient way remains a top ask from players. At launch, it annoyed so many of them they resorted to using a glitch to traverse the landscape quicker.
