Black Friday was the biggest sales week for the PS4 since launch in the UK

On the software side, Nintendo celebrates its most successful UK launch with Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Pokémon Sun and Moon is Nintendo's biggest ever launch in the UK.

There was already an inkling that this would be the case based on pre-orders - Pokémon Sun was the most pre-ordered game in Nintendo’s history while Pokémon Moon was the most downloaded 3DS demo for the company.

What's more, the title sold almost 2 million units in three days in Japan.

According to Eurogamer's Tom Phillips, "Pokémon Sun and Moon managed in one day what Wii Fit sold in two weeks," which NeoGAF has pointed out is around 305,000 units.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon debuted at No. 3 and No. 4 in the UK charts resectively, but their combined sales would've seen them top the chart, bumping FIFA 17 to No. 2 and Infinite Warfare to third place, followed by Battlefield 1.

Meanwhile, the PS4 sold more units last week than it has in any other week since its launch. Those Black Friday deals prices to be just too tempting for some. Black Friday week in 2015 held the previous record.

The console bundles have had an effect on the top 40 titles with Uncharted 4 back in the charts at No. 8, and Drive Club and Ratchet & Clank reappearing at spots 20 and 25.
