Amazon UK is having issues fulfilling Dishonored 2 pre-orders due to apparent stock shortages

It appears Amazon UK customers who pre-ordered the standard edition of Dishonored 2 have received word the online retailer is short on stock.

We were first made aware of the issue thanks to VG247 community member Revolting, who received the following message from the reatiler:

As you can see, Amazon UK is offering customers the option to either cancel the order, or wait on the game to be restocked and sent out.

Site contributor and VG247 streamer extraordinaire Shabana Arif also ran into issues with her Dishonored 2 pre-order.

"No 4K PS4 Pro Dishonored 2 stream this evening because my order was buggered right up," she said, noting that she went ahead and cancelled the pre-order.

But then, this happened:

"I cancelled the Dishonored 2 order this morning," she said. "Now I'm being charged and it's dispatched?"

I would personally hate to be an Amazon UK customer service agent at the moment. I imagine they are in Dishonored hell right now.

At this point, it appears the retailer's supplier didn't send enough copies to fulfill the pre-orders. Hopefully, that's the case instead of Amazon UK itself not ordering enough copies.

If you have a look at the Amazon UK page for Dishonored 2, it shows an in-stock date of November 11. Which the game's release date. It must be completely out of stock today, then.

Normally if a title isn't set for release until a certain day, it would say something to the effect of: "This item will be released on November 11, 2016."

It's understandable that pre-order customers would be frustrated. Those who ordered the game early were to be provided access to the game 24 hours earlier than those who purchased it on release day. This means that many were looking forward to playing the game today, and are now unable to.

Some customers are also having issues with receiving the PS4 Pro units they pre-ordered from Amazon UK. Customers have been sent emails noting a rescheduled delivery as it is potentially out of stock.

Hopefully, Amazon UK will sort all this out soon, and folks won't have to wait too much longer. For reference, the North American end of Amazon lists the game as in-stock, at least the Xbox One version. The PS4 version is being sold by third-parties.

PlayStation 4 Pro is out worldwide today, and Dishonored 2 drops tomorrow, November 11 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
