You'll soon have a reason to log into Pokemon Go every day

Pokemon Go habit slipping? Real life creeping back into your daily routine? Let us help you fall right off the wagon.

Pokemon Go players will soon be rewarded for logging into the app and completing activities every day - as well as a weekly bonus for completing all tasks for seven days in a row.

"If you catch a Pokémon at any time on Tuesday local time, you’ll be eligible for the next daily bonus on Wednesday at 12 AM local time," Niantic said. I'm not sure if this is just an example of how the daily bonus system ticks over based on your local time, or if it suggest the feature will go live in Pokemon Go on Tuesday next week.

Anyway, here's how the daily and weekly bonuses work in Pokemon Go:

Pokemon Go Daily bonuses

  • First Pokemon catch each day
    • 500 XP
    • 600 Stardust
  • First spin of the Photo Disc at a Pokestop each day
    • 500 XP
    • "A number of additional items"

Pokemon Go weekly bonuses

  • Catch a Pokemon every day for seven days
    • 2,000 XP
    • 2,400 Stardust
  • Visit a Pokestop every day for seven days
    • 2,000 XP
    • "A greater number of additional items"

Niantic doesn't make it clear but I believe the weekly Pokestop bonus requires you to spin the Photodisc and earn the daily bonus seven days in a row in order to qualify - not just wander past while playing Pokemon Go, or whatever.
