The latest Dishonored 2 developer diary is now available, and this one delves into missions.

According to the Arkane Studios, highly defended locations and a high-value target are back, but each mission will now have its own theme.

These themes range from time-travel to multiple targets, while others feature areas such as the Clockwork Mansion with "moving parts" or various others which shod off the alt-Victorian setting.

“We wanted to do classic Dishonored missions where it’s a highly defended location, it has its own character, it has its own nature, and you’re going after a high-value target,” said creative director Harvey Smith in the accompanying development entry.

“But we also wanted to give them some sort of epic theming, either fictionally or game-mechanically, so that it created a completely memorable space to move around in. Given that in one playthrough of Dishonored 2 you probably see 20% of the game, it feels to us like no two players will have exactly the same path."

One of the area mentioned in the developer post touched upon the Dust District. Here the player will have to deal with randomly occurring windstorms while trying to decide which of two possible targets to peruse.

The post goes on to highlight other missions and their various themes, so you should give it a read if interested in the game.

Dishonored 2 launches worldwide on November 11 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who pre-order will be able to play the game a day before its official release.
