The Division 1.4: say hello to the player-killing Banshee gear set as B.L.I.N.D. equipment gets the boot

The Division PvP gets a bit of a shake up with a new set focused on taking down player threats.

The Division 1.4 includes a major rebalance which will shake things up by replacing many of the old gear set archetypes.

One example is the Banshee set, which will fill the space left by the old B.L.I.N.D. gear in The Division 1.4's arsenal. The Banshee is very much a PvP-focused build so if you're not into competitive play and going Rogue you'll want to look elsewhere - but if killing players is your bag you are in for a treat.

A work-in-progress build is available on The Division 1.4 PTS server for PC, so Arekkz has managed to have a go with it. As discussed in the video above, the Banshee gear set comes with the following bonuses:

  • 2 piece set bonus: +20% looted Dark Zone funds
  • 3 piece set bonus: +10% damage to target out of cover
  • 4 piece set bonus: varies depending on Rogue status

Right now you probably don't care about Dark Zone currency, but when The Division 1.4 goes live there'll be plenty of goodies on offer worth picking up, such as all new level 33 blueprints. The second bonus will be useful even if you're not going rogue, hopefully giving you an advantage when you yourself come under attack.

The third bonus is where things get really interesting: if you're currently labelled rogue, it refills all your ammo every thirty seconds, and reduces incoming damage from non-rogue players by 10%. This is fantastic because there's no reliable way to restock in ammo while you're rogue. If you're not rogue, it reduces incoming damage from rogues by 10%. There's also a speed bonus but it's being removed due to technical limitations.

The Division developer Ubisoft Massive is currently looking for feedback in order to find a second non-rogue bonus, so weigh in if you have an opinion. The Banshee set will automatically replace any B.L.I.N.D. gear you happen to own when The Division 1.4 rolls out in October, so if this strikes your fancy go searching for B.L.I.N.D. pieces now.
