The firm said Resident Evil 7 will be playable on PlayStation 4 Pro with both 4K and HDR graphics supported.

So if you have either high-end TV sitting in your living room, and buy a PS4 Pro, you'll be able to see the horror in all its glory.

PS4 Pro is due for launch November 10 with a price of $399 / £349. And there are other games which will support the new graphics, today's firmware update for the standard console brought HDR to all Playstation 4 consoles - in case you aren't interested in buying a Pro.

Resident Evil 7 will be release on PC, PS4 and Xbox January 24, and it supports PlayStation VR for that extra scare.
