World of Warcraft Legion players come together to find and spawn a hidden world boss

Intrepid World of Warcraft players went looking for secrets in Legion and ended up spawning a hidden world boss for everyone after putting together some clues.

Kosumoth is the name of a hidden world boss World of Warcraft Legion players managed to unlock for everyone in the game, after a journey of hunting for secrets.

As detailed on Reddit, it all started with an item called Reins of he Long-Forgotten Hippogrypht that's been in the game files for years but was only made available with Legion.

Separate from that, players were trying to find hidden caves in the island and managed to find a few throughout the Broken Shores. These caves were hidden pretty well, one is in a broken ship in the middle of the ocean, which you can get to through a crack hidden behind some kelp. What players found in there were dark orbs.

These orbs, players realised, are similar to the orbs next to Drak'thul, an NPC on the Broken Shores. If you do an Easter egg with him, you'll get him to speak the language of old gods, which allows you to click on these orbs. These Hungering Orbs, as they're now known, are placed all around the map.

Naturally, a hunt began to find them all. After a while, players realised that a table next to Drak'thul has a makeshift map of the Broken Isles, and, as you may have guessed, orb locations were marked on that map.

The community located them, but nothing happened. After some trial and error, it was discovered that they needed to be clicked on in a certain order to be activated. Once that was done, Kosumoth, a hidden world boss, spawned for all.

Although the boss appeared for a short time, no one knows if this whole thing will need to be done again before he reappears. Whatever the case, it's all very fascinating what dedicated players manage to find in WoW, beating whatever safeguards Blizzard put in place to hide them.
