Destiny: Rise of Iron screens show off the Wretched Eye Strike, social environment and action shots from the first two missions

Activision released so many Destiny: Rise of Iron assets from gamescom 2016, it took almost 24 hours to download the file.

No, we're not joking. And it was faster than doing it in batches. Trust us. Anyway, we now have them ready for you to look upon with excitement.

In the galleries below, you'll get a look at the story missions, the new social space and the new Strikes.

Update: because of Reasons, the gallery code keeps posting every image at once, so unfortunately you'll just have to sort through them manually. In order of presentation, you'll see:

  • Wretched Eye Strike - 13 images

The Strike is set in the Plaguelands of Old Russia, and players will need to enter a missile base where a Fallen Devil Splicer Priest has taken up residence. As noted in the vidoc Bungie released this week, Devil Priest is performing experiments on the Hive because he is keen on creating his own sort of menace. Players will need to deal this fella, who has ripped an eye out of a Hive Ogre and fused it on his rifle. They will also have to deal with the now blind Ogre.

  • First story mission - 10 images

  • Second story mission - 15 images

  • Felwinter Peak social space - 7 images

This is the mountain which Destiny players will ascend in order to reach the outpost. Once there, the space will need to be reclaimed from the Fallen Devils and relight the torches surrounding the shrine dedicated to the Iron Lords. Once reclaimed, it will forever be in the hands of the Guardians.

Destiny: Rise of Iron will require players to own The Taken King, and will run you $30 for Xbox One and PS4 when it releases on September 20. Pre-orders have been open for some time now.

PlayStation users will also get access to timed-exclusive content for Rise of Iron.
