World of Warcraft has been patched in anticipation of the Legion expansion, which means there's loads of new stuff to see and do.

World of Warcraft: Legion isn't out yet, but Blizzard has released a hefty update for the MMORPG which adds in a stack of new content.

Log into WoW now and you can check out the Broken Shore scenario introducing the Legion storyline, participate in Legion invasions, and even start playing as a Demon Hunter.

The Demon Hunter class is exclusive to those who buy into the Legion expansion, but the other content is free to all World of Warcraft players. WoW players say loot is flowing like water from the Invasions, so it's definitely worth taking a look. The Broken Shore quest will also award you a few new gear pieces.

The preparatory patch paves the Way for World of Warcraft: Legion, which releases at the end of the month.

The Legion expansion is the sixth major update to roll out to World of Warcraft since the seminal MMORPG released in 2004. Although WoW may not enjoy the same popularity as it did at its peak, it's definitely still going strong - maybe it's time to check back in?
