Six games later, the Civilization team is really pleased with this art brainwave

Civilization 6 embraces a new art style, but it's not a change to be worried about.

This Civilization 6 developer diary is all about the new entry's art style. There's discussion of how everything is destructible - telling a story of what your or rival Civs have been up to so far - and a demonstration of the gorgeous rolling fog effects.

But what got me is the antique map style of the blank play field before your units wander through it; it's delightful and makes so, so much sense. One of the Firaxis staffers jokingly asks why it took the team six games to think of it.
