US: Don't miss out on your last chance to pre-order the PlayStation VR

If you want to secure your PlayStation VR ahead of launch day, this is your last chance.

PlayStation VR pre-orders on guaranteed launch day stock will open in North America for one last time tomorrow.

If you plan to pre-purchase your virtual reality headset, you'll want to be lurking the Gamestop website at 7:00am PT on Thursday June 30. If past PlayStation VR pre-order rounds are anything to judge by, they'll sell out pretty quickly.

Although many other retailers are offering pre-orders of PlayStation VR, this is your last chance for guaranteed release day stock.

Sony is keeping a tight lockdown on how much PlayStation VR stock it offers for pre-purchase, which should hopefully avoid the problems experienced when demand for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive outstripped supply, and those who'd paid months in advance were left waiting.

In fact, the PlayStation Blog reports there will be stock in-store with major retailers when PlayStation VR launches in October - so perhaps a pre-order isn't even necessary, if you're willing to risk missing out.

At $400, PlayStation VR is the most affordable of the three major virtual reality headsets on offer and runs from a PS4 rather than a high-end PC, so we're interested to see if it manages to go mass market in a way its rivals haven't (yet). It all depends on the games, of course - but there are a lot of developers working on PlayStation VR content.
