God of War: New game set after God of War 3, will not be open world.

The new God of War game looks fantastic, with the E3 trailer showing Kratos and his son roaming around the wilderness foraging for their dinner.

As you may have already surmised, the game takes place after the events of God of War 3, something confirmed by Sony Santa Monica creative director Cory Barlog in an interview after the show with YouTube Live at E3.

Barlog was also asked whether we're looking at an open world title, to which he replied, "It's open, but it's not an open world."

As well as the overhauled gameplay that was rebuilt in its entirety, the quick time events have also been tweaked to provide a different experience that will let players "get up close to the action."
