What's scarier than a possessed animatronic bear? You just had to ask, didn't you.

First trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location released

The Five Nights at Freddy's series will continue with a new game called Sister Location.

Details are slim so far, as creator Scott Cawthon broke the news via a debut trailer and a website update - making good on last month's tease. The trailer is no doubt full of little clues and tips the community will tear right into, but as we've seen in the past Cawthon is very cunning with his teasers, so we might not learn too much despite community efforts.

All the information I need is that the new game is leaning right into "clowns" and "sinister little girl" horror tropes. Ah ha ha! No. Brr.

The trailer proclaims a release date of "this fall" which with any other series would probably mean somewhere in the vicinity of October, and of course a Halloween release would be delightful. But Cawthon has a reliable habit of releasing early, so I wouldn't be shocked to see this cross the line in August.

There have been four main Five Nights at Freddy's games as well as a troubled spin-off RPG and a novel. Although the base horror games themselves are mostly forgettable fun, the series lore and the many, many secrets hidden in each release have proven to be a winning formula - so much so that a movie has been fast tracked. You can try them for yourself on PC and mobile, although console ports may be inbound.
