Dark Souls 3 PvP patch pulled from Steam

Dark Souls 3's continued battle with cheaters on PC resulted in developer From Software releasing a new patch that was supposed to fix some of the things cheaters rely on to infect others.

Unfortunately, the patch introduced a number of performance issues that the studio just couldn't ignore. Today, the patch was pulled from Steam.

"The patch has been removed temporarily to fix the freeze issues," a representative wrote on the Steam forums. "We hope to reinstate the patch ASAP. If you fall victim to one of the bugs previously fixed, don't worry, you won't be penalized."

The rep promised more details as they become available.
