Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - First Assault Online free this weekend

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - First Assault Online is a multiplayer shooter from Nexon, currently available via Steam Early Access.

Getting in to the closed testing phase will normally cost you at least $5, but this weekend it is entirely free via Steam. Anybody can download the client and join the fun, right through to Sunday evening. Taking part in the free-access period nets you an M4A1 weapon skin.

If you can't get enough of the anime tie-in, you can buy permanent early access at a discount. The basic Recruit Pack will set you back $2.50, while the fanciest pack goes for $30. All the mid-tier options are on sale, and every option comes with various fancy goodies.

There's a new entry in the Operative Trailers series too; get to know Borma below.

I am such a great big Ghost in the Shell weaboo that I am thoroughly tempted by this one, but I might just stream Stand Alone Complex and play the excellent PSOne game instead since doing so will involve fewer incidents of competivie shooter newb rage.
