Guile joins Street Fighter 5 cast on Thursday

The next Street Fighter 5 DLC character, Guile, was promised for April release - and will just make that target.

The flat-topped American will be released by 7:00pm PST April 28, Capcom has promised - although this only applies to North America at this stage. Europeans can probably expect their turn to come shortly thereafter.

Capcom seems a little hesitant about the release, saying that it is "planned" and setting a deadline rather than kick off, so it's possible the new DLC is in certification wiht no definite ETA. Fingers crossed we don't see a delay, eh?

Guile is the second Street Fighter 5 DLC character following on from Alex. Like his precursor, Guile will be free until the Zenny item store opens, after which players will need to purchase the virtual currency or earn it in-game in order to add the character to their line-up.

Guile's Street Fighter 4 storyline had him continuing his search for Charlie Nash, the original creator of the Sonic Boom, after Guile noticed French MMA fighter Abel using the technique. We'll see where things go from there.

Gameplay-wise, Capcom says he remains a solid option for controlling both ground and air, but now has a crouch walk state called Faultless Move, which allows him to keep his charge while moving forward. Check it out below:
