Destiny Xur update: should you buy Year 2 Monte Carlo?

Having made its way to all platforms in Year 2, is Monte Carlo worth buying?

Xur is selling the Year 2 version of Monte Carlo this weekend. Monte Carlo is an auto rifle that was available in Year 1, but only PlayStation platforms.

Statistically, the weapon has very low impact, even for an auto rifle. It does, however, have very high rate-of-fire, and can be fired from the hip for bonus accuracy.

Monte Carlo can be useful in PvP, too, if you're running a melee spec. That's because the named perk reduces melee cooldown every time you deal damage with it. You also have a chance to completely recharge your melee attack when you get a kill.

Outside of that, it's an average weapon in PvE and in general.

In short, it's better than its Year 1 counterpart, but nothing to write home about. Get this one for the collection, or to infuse it into something else.
