Fable Legends is now permanently offline

Microsoft announced development on Fable Legends had been cancelled along with the closure of Lionhead Studios.

The beta was to run through today, April 13, with no new players permitted in the interim. In-game Gold purchases were disabled for those currently in the beta, and those who had purchased gold previously would receive a full refund.

Last week, sources within Lionhead said discussions regarding the free-to-play RPG are taking place, alongside redundancy talks with employees. Once source said Lionhead and Microsoft had meetings on whether developers could continue working on Fable Legends and others were unable to verify the information.

Announced in 2014, Fable Legends was slated for a 2016 release on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
