Blizzard has released a new patch for the closed beta of Overwatch that added Competitive Play, the game's high-skill league.

Competitive Play is made up of different tiers and divisions, with the aim to create an environment for players to test their mettle against other serious players.

Anyone, or group, can queue up for a game, but they'll need to be level 25 or above. The game will take into account the group size when matchmaking.

Although rewards are not the goal of Competitive Play, you will still receive some cosmetic items. Game director Jeff Kaplan explained this and more in a new video introducing the feature.

Kaplan goes on to talk about the match format, how it will work come launch vs during the beta, and more.
