Blizzard has released a new developer video for Overwatch that aims to explain the philosophy behind the game's netcode, and why the studio hasn't talked about it before.

Lead engineer Tim Ford and senior engineer Philip Orwig go on to detail what they refer to as "favouring the shooter," one of the netcode's core values. This basically mean that Overwatch currently gives the shooter an advantage, regardless of their connection, resulting in players getting shot around corners.

There's also talk of responsiveness across the network, and some of the changes Blizzard is making to these values based on beta feedback.
