The Division made $330M globally during launch week - besting Destiny's new IP record

The Division made $330 million globally during launch week, according to Ubisoft, which stated it was the "biggest first week ever" for a new game franchise.

They may be right: Destiny was considered the biggest new IP record holder with $325 million made worldwide during launch week in September 2014.

If everyone bought just the standard physical or digital version of the $60 game, that would mean 5.5 million copies were sold if our math is correct. But the $330 million figure includes other formats, per Ubisoft.

The sales figure was complied using estimated world-wide revenue from physical and digital full game sales, "including the gold edition only, according to GFK Chart-Track, first parties, retail customer sell-through and internal estimates through end March 12 at current exchange rates."

There were also 1.2 million peak concurrent users over launch weekend, and over 100 million hours played in the first week.

Last week, the company announced the game was the fastest-selling title in company history, but didn't share any sales data.

The Division is currently available on Xbox One, PC, and PS4 and you can find out more on the game through our page hub.
