Paper Mario: Color Splash hits Wii U this year

A new Paper Mario game has been announced for Wii U.
Paper Mario: Color Splash was one of today's surprise Nintendo Direct announcements. The Wii U exclusive has not been dated beyond 2016.
The game has Mario bringing colour back to Prism Island, with, uh, a hammer. You can use the paint hammer on inanimate objects as well as the residents of Prism island in order to revive them.
Combat is enhanced by a system whereby players can paint cards and flick them for various effects.
