HTC has revealed that over 15,000 Vive units were sold less than ten minutes after the company opened pre-orders for the unit.

The news is courtesy of HTC's Shen Ye, who was impressed by the numbers.

The Vive costs $800 in the US and £689 in the UK.

By comparison, Oculus' day one stock for the Rift was sold out in 15 minutes, though the company did not reveal any sales numbers.
