Dota 2 dramas: stream issues and a fired commentator at the Shanghai Major

The stream of the second event of the Dota Major Championship has been plagued with issues, and a commentator has been fired after complaints.

The Shanghai Major, which started on February 25 and ends on March 6, has faced issues with streams cutting out or freezing mid-match, commentators' mics cutting out, and the volume on the stream being too low, among other things. Many of the complaints are detailed in this Reddit thread.

There have also been issues with the host, James 'Sir 2GD' Harding, who made several off-colour remarks during the February 25 stream, and who often looked at the wrong camera during recording. Harding has a reputation for being controversial.

Gabe Newell himself has taken to Reddit to address complaints. He did not go easy in his remarks:

"Two things:
1) James. We've had issues with James at previous events. Some Valve people lobbied to bring him back for Shanghai, feeling that he deserved another chance. That was a mistake. James is an ass, and we won't be working with him again.
2) As long as we're firing people, we are also firing the production company that we've been working with on the Shanghai Major. They will be replaced, and we hope to get this turned around before the main event."

With these issues being worked on, hopefully the rest of the Shanghai Major will proceed more smoothly.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
