Grappling Hooks added to ARK: Survival Evolved along with the Terror Bird

New content is being added to ARK: Survival Evolved all the time in the form of new mounts and what have you. Today is no exception.

Meet the Terror Bird, folks, also known as Phorusrhacidae Rapidesultor. This scary looking bird is capable of high-speed sprints and "brief hover-like leaps." So, while it can't fly like a typical bird, what it can do with its wings is rather impressive.

While tamable, it is pretty aggressive which should make it a rather formidable combat mount.

The developers have also added a Grappling Hook which will allow players to "scale cliffs, hitch a ride by attaching to a flying creature, wrangle other players/prisoners, or even small creatures."

Along with the new tool and the Terror Bird, today's update also includes PvE and PvP Tribe Alliances, upgraded to fishing, all current items have been added to the Master Items ID array, and "fully localizable game text" was also added.

ARK: Survival Evolved is also on sale through Steam's Lunar New Year Sale for 33% off at $19.99.
