Here's how well Xbox One is selling (according to EA)

EA's latest earnings report may have given us an indication as to the number of units Xbox One sold.

Unlike Sony, Microsoft is not happy to publish sales numbers every few months. During its most recent update in October last year, Microsoft said it would no longer report Xbox One unit sales, focusing instead on growth in Live users and other user engagement metrics.

Sony, however, reports unit sales seemingly every six to eight weeks. PlayStation 4 currently stands at 35.9 million units sold through to consumers, worldwide.

During last night's EA Q3 earnings report, CFO Blake Jorgensen may have given us the closest thing we have to official sales numbers for Microsoft's console. Jorgensen mentioned both consoles' install base to be at 55 million units worldwide.

As such, simple math suggests Xbox One's install base to be 19 million units, making this a two-to-one ratio in Sony's favour.
