Dragon Quest 7 3DS hits North America this summer, no word from Europe yet

Dragon Quest 7 has something that's almost but not quite a release date.

The 3DS re-release of Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will release in the US during local summer, Nintendo of America has announced.

It's a vague release window, but better than the "2016" date we had before. Unfortunately, there's been no equivalent update from Nintendo of Europe - yet.

Nintendo confirmed both the Dragon Quest 7 and 8 3DS ports would be coming west in 2016 during November 2015's Nintendo Direct, but provided no date details, beyond saying 8 would follow 7 at a later date.

The PSOne version of Dragon Quest 7 released in 2000 in Japan and 2001 in the west, while the 3DS release first hit Japan in 2013.
