The best Fallout 4 settlement mods (so far)

Fallout 4 is a game about building. Let's face it.

fallout_4_new_header_9

Now that Fallout 4 is a few months old and everyone's finished questing, dungeon diving and wacky build runs, the real work can begin: building chains of settlements while we wait for DLC.

They say the most creative work occurs when you work within restrictions, but if you're on PC, the modding scene has delivered a ton of new materials, solutions to common problems, new features and much, much more. Our picks for the best of the bunch are below.

What you won't find listed are purely decorative elements, or anything egregiously cheesy (nuclear turrets that don't require power and provide hundreds of points of defence, for example). This list is all about helping you build the settlement of your dreams while staying within the lore as much as possible - although the "build anywhere" one is definitely open to abuse.

As ever, be wary when using mods; they don't always play nice with each other, and there's no guarantee they won't bork your install and save games. Back up your stuff before you start messing around. With that caveat behind us, enjoy!
