Elite: Dangerous sales top 1.4 millions units

Elite: Dangerous has sold over 1.4 million units across all platforms.

Initial releasing December 2014, followed by a Steam release in April 2015, and then onto Xbox One at the tail end of last year, Elite: Dangerous has now sold through over 1.4 million units across all platforms.

The number represents units sold to consumers, and doesn't include free activations and the like. According to developer Frontier, the average playtime is 60 hours per user, and over 84 million hours overall.

Horizons, the upcoming expansion bringing planetary landings, is currently in Early Access on Steam, and is expected to launch this year, alongside other content updates.
