Over 1,500 people worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 is awesome, and when you see the scope of the project and the passion behind it you start to get an inkling of why.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was one of our top games of 2015. There are plenty of huge open-world games out there, some with arguably better combat and RPG systems, but there's just something so wonderful about Geralt and Ciri's adventures.

The video below celebrates this fact, and also incidentally provides some interesting trivia from production. Over 1,500 people worked on the game across a huge variety of disciplines, which also happens to be about the number of characters in the game.

16,000 animations bring the characters to life, as they populate a world of 136 square km and act out a script of 820,000 words. Those are the most interesting numbers, but watch the video, though, if only for the behind the scenes of sword play motion capture. Awesome.
