Rise of the Tomb Raider gets free trial on Xbox One

If you're on the fence about forking out for the latest Tomb Raider, this new trial may sway you.

Rise of the Tomb Raider came out at a real tough time. The game launched on the same day as Fallout 4, and close to the release dates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Star Wars: Battlefront.

Naturally, this timing didn't do it any favours, despite Square and Microsoft reportedly being happy with it. It's a good thing then you can try it to see for yourself, as Microsoft has just made a trial available on the Xbox Store.

The trial clocks in at just over 20GB, and is essentially the full game download, so all your progress will carry over to the full thing if you decide to buy it.

According to one Reddit user, however, it's not very long, saying it's about an hour long.
