The retail version of the PlayStation VR comes with an external processing unit the size of a Wii.

Although we're a fair bit away from its planned first half of 2016 launch, Sony appears to be showing the retail unit of PlayStation VR to the press.

We learned from a recent developer panel the VR headset will need another box to power it, alongside PlayStation 4 itself. Today, a new report revealed the box will be as small as a Nintendo Wii.

Polygon reports the external box is what you'll be plugging your headset into, which is in turn plugged into the PlayStation 4. The site wasn't allowed to take any pictures, but a Sony developer confirmed that it is indeed the final, retail look.

The report also mentioned how comfortable it was to wear, with a dial in the back to tighten or loosen it up.
