Welp, Fallout 4 is now the most-played game on Steam

Fallout 4 is king. Surprise surprise!

Earlier today, Fallout 4 smashed GTA 5's concurrent Steam player record.

"Wow," we said. "Really neat. Far out."

But now that many US players are home from their day jobs, it's done something even more impressive: with a peak of 445,546 today, it's hit the top of the charts, overtaking Dota 2 and Counter-strike: Global Offensive.

If you're not the sort of person who regularly checks the Steam charts, you might not realise that Valve's two top titles are the perennial chart toppers. Their individual player-bases consistently rank literally tens of thousands of times higher than their nearest rivals.

It's rare for anything to overtake them, but we're not in the least surprised to see it happen. Congratulations, Fallout 4.

Now, let's see if we can't smash Dota 2's concurrent player record... That may be asking too much.
