Bart, Krusty, Doctor Who expansions and Hire a Hero update come to LEGO Dimensions

New LEGO Dimensions expansion packs will be released in the UK this Friday, and are out today in North America. Time to get your Doctor Who on, kiddos.

Along with the aforementioned pack, LEGO Ninjago, The Simpsons, and The LEGO Movie will be made available. These Wave 2 Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs come with additional levels, characters, vehicles, and gadgets with in-game abilities.

Also new to the game is the Hire-a-Hero update that allows players to sample a selection of Wave 1 expansion pack characters using studs collected in the game.

Players can select the hologram minifigure near select hint stones to unlock characters for a limited time. Characters from subsequent waves of expansion packs will be added in the future.

The Doctor Who Level Pack contains The Dalek Extermination of Earth which is an additional mission-based Doctor Who level, along with a 12th Doctor LEGO minifigure, TARDIS and K-9 – all playable in the game.

The LEGO Ninjago Team Pack with Kai and Cole LEGO minifigures lets players use their golden Ninja weapons, Spinjitzu skills, activate special abilities and rebuild Cole’s Builder Bomber into a Boulder Blaster and the Cyclone Jet. Players can also turn Kai’s Blade Bike into a Flying a Fire Bike and the Blades of Fire vehicle.

Fans of The Simpsons can grab the fun packs featuring either Bart Simpson and Krusty the Clown. Bart's allows the player to activate his Target and Mini Access abilities and use his Gravity Sprinter which rebuilds into a Street Shredder and Sky Clobberer. The Krusty the Clown pack allows the figurine to use Growth and Hazard Cleaner abilities in-game. He uses his Clown Bike which can be rebuilt into a Cannon Bike and Anti-Gravity Rocket Bike.

Finally, the LEGO Movie Fun Pack comes with the Unikitty mini-figure which can be used to activate her Rainbow LEGO, Master Build, and Big Transform abilities to solve puzzles and defeat destructive enemies. Her Cloud Cuckoo Car can be rebuilt into the X-Stream Soaker and Rainbow Cannon.

LEGO Dimensions is now available for PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
