There's a Shadow of the Colossus vibe to Prey for the Gods

Prey for the Gods seems deliberately designed to awaken your nostalgia for Shadow of the Colossus.

Prey for the Gods has a lone character with a bow facing off against enormous enemy creatures. That and the art style are enough to spark comparisons to Shadow of the Colossus, but developer No Matter has dropped a couple of references that seem to point at its inspiration.

"You must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter," the developer said. Elsewhere, the team is described as having "the simple goal to create colossal moments".

Heavy-handed hints aside, I doubt anybody's going to complain about a new game in the same vein as Team Ico's classic, which has never been matched. That said, No Matter hasn't provided platform or release date details, and there's no word on funding or whether the trailer and stills below are made with actual development assets, so don't get too excited just yet.

Update: In an email, No Matter told us its targeting Mac and PC, has no release window to announce, is self funded and made the trailer with actual gameplay and development assets.
