New League of Legends champion delayed to next patch

League of Legends 5.19 is out, but Kindred is not. What gives?

Kindred is a pretty cool sounding champion - they're actually two characters, a hunter and a wolf - which had been expected in the latest League of Legends patch. Unfortunately, Riot had to pull Kindred at the last minute - so late in the game that they were listed in the patch notes and got a champion spotlight video.

"We found an important, gameplay-impacting issue that we can't release, specifically related to Kindred," Riot wrote on its forums.

"Rather than rush a fix out the door, we are going to take due diligence to maintain the integrity of the game and release Kindred (all fixed up) next patch, once it has had adequate coverage."

There's no ETA on patch 5.20 yet, alas.
