The Xbox One Elite controller is coming October 27

The new Xbox One Elite controller is due on October 27, according to Microsoft's online store.

That's the same date as Halo 5: Guardians, which makes a lot of sense.

The controller, which is priced at $149.99, is aimed at players who take their gaming very seriously. It will feature swappable thumbsticks and D-Pads, interchangeable paddles to allow for less hand movement during play, extremely sensitive triggers and numerous customisation options.

Whether or not this will create a rift between the players who can afford to buy an expensive controller and those who can't in-game remains to be seen, although there's a good chance this controller will be big among professional players. The standard Xbox One controller retails for $59.99.
